Biography

As Associate Director of Advising Services, Jeff oversees advising for the Division of Humanities, advising for exploratory students, and coordination of campus-wide Pre-Law advising. He also coordinates Arts and Science’s undergraduate recruitment efforts and the college Ambassador program. Jeff has been heavily involved with NACADA, the Global Community for Academic Advising, since 2012 and recently completed a two-year term as region chair.

Jeff was born and raised in Union City, a small West Tennessee town on the Kentucky state line. After finishing his master’s degree in English at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, he moved to Texas to work in academic support as director of a university writing center. Jeff moved back to Tennessee in 2005 and served as director of advising at a Middle Tennessee community college before returning to Knoxville to work for Arts and Sciences Advising Services in 2011.

Hobbies and Interests: Cooking and playing video games.
