PhD Candidate, Higher Education Administration

Biography

Originally from Tennessee, Leigh spent time after high school between Utah, Texas, and Vermont before moving back to Tennessee in 2017 to work for the UT System Office of Academic Affairs and Student Success. She currently serves as Coordinator for Student Success Initiatives and oversees student-success projects focused on mental health and well-being, veterans, coordination between academic and student affairs, and seamless transfer between UT campuses. She has also coordinated Tennessee's Reverse Transfer, a program that allows transfer students currently attending four-year schools the ability to combine four-year and community college credits to receive an associate degree.

Before joining the UT System, Cherry served as Student Success Coordinator at a Liberal Arts College in New England, a Spanish language content developer and instructional designer, and adjunct professor of Spanish. 

Hobbies and Interests: Being outdoors, cooking, reading, and listening to podcasts.
