Admisson to the CSP Program - Application Process
Step 1: Apply to the CSP Program
To be considered for admission to the CSP program, applicants must be sent to Karen Crumley via e-mail or to the address below:
- Complete the CSP Program Application which includes a personal statement outlining your goals, showing your compatability with the CSP Program, and providing evidence of commitment to the profession.
- Submit a current resume in electronic form to Dr. Norma T. Mertz.
- Have recent (within five years) GRE Scores of at least 900 (combined) on the verbal and quantitative sections and 4 on the writing portion.
- Have an earned undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or higher; Graduate GPA of 3.3 or higher.
- Submit 3 Rating forms (references) which speak to your strengths and weaknesses as a student affairs/student services practitioner and as a student .

Students are admitted to the College Student Personnel (CSP) Program in early February for matriculation the following August.
Application materials for admission are due no later than January 1.
Step 2: Apply to the Graduate School
To be eligible for admission to the program, prospective students must submit the following information to The University of Tennessee Graduate School Admissions Office:

- How to download forms
To view an interactive PDF form, you must have the Adobe Acrobat Reader. You may download it by clicking on the yellow button below. After installing it, click the interactive form in the list that you want to view. If you are unable to open the file by clicking the link on this page, you may right-click on the file and save it to your computer desktop. You may then minimize all open windows, and double-click the file on your desktop to open it.
- How to complete forms online
To complete the forms, point your mouse to area that you want to fill in and click. To fill in a box, use the mouse and click. You may move forward through the form with the TAB key, or backwards with the SHIFT + TAB key. - How to print forms
Once you have completed all items online, you are ready to print out a final copy. You can not save the completed version. Be sure to print out a copy while still online. Applications cannot be submitted electronically.
